Gentle Pregnancy Yoga & Relaxation near Launceston, Cornwall
UNWIND, EASE TENSION & RELAX WHILE MEETING OTHER MUMS-TO-BE
Join my 4-week block of pregnancy relaxation classes in South Petherwin Village Hall, near Launceston.
Why is Gentle Yoga & Relaxation in Pregnancy so Important?
As busy mums/mums-to-be, we very rarely spend time focusing on ourselves. Stress can cause tension in our muscles and this is not helpful to our bodies as they grow and prepare for labour and birth.
Pregnancy yoga can help you to feel calmer, stronger, and more connected to your changing body. Gentle movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises can ease common pregnancy discomforts as well as improve posture and flexibility. Yoga, along with relaxation, during pregnancy also supports your emotional wellbeing by calming your nervous system, reducing stress and tension and helping to regulate your hormones, encouraging better sleep. Many of the breathing and mindfulness practices work beautifully alongside hypnobirthing techniques, encouraging deep relaxation and a sense of control during labour and birth.
My aim for these sessions is to:
- Create a calm, safe, and supportive space for expectant mothers
- Encourage deep relaxation and stress reduction during pregnancy
- Support emotional wellbeing, building a positive mindset and confidence for birth
- Practise gentle breathing techniques
- Encourage connection between mum and baby
- Ease common pregnancy aches and tensions through gentle movement
- Introduce mindfulness and relaxation tools that can be used during labour
- Give you the chance to unwind, promoting better sleep and overall wellbeing

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When can I start pregnancy relaxation classes?
You can take part in gentle pregnancy yoga & relaxation at any point from 12 weeks onwards. Whether you are in your second or third trimester, both yoga & relaxation are beneficial however far along you are in your pregnancy journey.
What should I bring?
I will provide yoga mats and a warm, friendly space. Just bring along a pregnancy pillow or normal pillow and a bottle of water. Wear something comfy that you will be able to relax easily in. You might also wish to bring along a small blanket.
Is pregnancy relaxation the same as doing an antenatal course?
While gentle pregnancy yoga & relaxation help towards your preparation for birth, and we do discuss tips for birth and practise breathing techniques, this is not an antenatal course. The focus in these sessions is on gentle movement, relaxation and connection. I would always encourage pregnant women to join a full antenatal course along with their chosen birth partner to ensure they are both fully informed and prepared for labour and birth. If you are interested in my hypnobirthing antenatal course, please click here to find out more.
Can my birth partner attend?
No, I’m afraid not. These gentle yoga & relaxation sessions are for mums-to-be only to help you find some time for you.
